Vegas Golden Knights sign Alexander Holtz to two-year contract

The Vegas Golden Knights completed some business leading up to the new season, announcing a two-year contract with forward Alexander Holtz, worth $837,500 per season.

Holtz, 23, dressed in 53 games last season for the Golden Knights, his first season in Vegas, scoring four goals and eight assists. Holtz also saw action at the AHL level, appearing in 16 games for Henderson, scoring 13 points.

The Stockholm, Sweden native was acquired in a trade with the New Jersey Devils prior to last season. In 163 NHL games, Holtz has recorded 46 points. Holtz was originally a seventh-overall select of the Devils at the 2020 NHL draft.

Holtz will look to carve himself out a role among the Golden Knights' bottom six. He recorded a career-high 28 points in 82 games for the Devils back during the 2023-24 season.

Vegas is expected to be a contender in the Western Conference, with the big addition of Mitch Marner in the offseason. Holtz will have to get off to a good start and show his value to add some secondary scoring or else he'll be in tough to find a regular shift for the Golden Knights.
