3 Potential Trade Destinations for Canucks' Jake DeBrusk
It's been a tough season for Vancouver Canucks forward Jake DeBrusk, and on Monday, it's going to hit a new low. DeBrusk won't be dressing for the Canucks game against the Seattle Kraken, and will be a healthy scratch for the first time this season.
DeBrusk has been very inconsistent on the struggling Canucks this season, recording nine goals, and 17 points in 37 games. Head coach Adam Foote had started to take some ice-time away from the veteran winger, as he played a season low 12:52 last week against the Philadelphia Flyers. Foote feels a reset could go a long way for DeBrusk as he searches for his game.

Trade talks are heating up in Vancouver, as the Canucks have already moved out captain Quinn Hughes, and while they rhymed off a few wins in a row after the blockbuster, the team has struggled of late, and now sit at the bottom of the Western Conference standings. There's more trades on the way, and while pending free agents are certainly going to be moved, DeBrusk, who is under contract through the 2030-31 season at $5.5 million AAV.
DeBrusk owns a full no-movement clause, but if he's fallen out of favor in Vancouver, he'll be open to a change of scenery. As far as potential destinations go, the Detroit Red Wings, Anaheim Ducks, and Philadelphia Flyers are all teams to keep an eye on.
DeBrusk sits for Vancouver, and this could be the beginning of the end for his Canucks' tenure.
