Final Projection of Team Canada's Olympic Roster

The 2026 Olympics from Milan are fast approaching, and there's a lot of excitement in the air in Canada, as the men's hockey roster will be named on December 31. It's the first time in 12 years the best players in the world are going to the Olympics, and with a loaded roster expected for Canada, they'll look to carry on their momentum from the 4 Nations Faceoff.

What we do know is there's already been a handful of players named to the roster, you'll see them in bold below. Here's our final Team Canada roster projection for the Milan Olympics

Macklin Celebrini, Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon
Sam Reinhart, Connor McDavid, Tom Wilson
Brad Marchand, Brayden Point, Mitch Marner
Sam Bennett, Nick Suzuki, Brandon Hagel
Extra Forwards: Connor Bedard, Mark Scheifele

Devon Toews, Cale Makar
Josh Morrissey, Shea Theodore
Matthew Schaefer, Drew Doughty
Extras: Evan Bouchard, Travis Sanheim

Jordan Binnington
Logan Thompson
Extra: Scott Wedgewood

Picking a hockey team of Canada's best players is no easy task, as there's always going to be a handful of players in the mix who didn't make it, but certainly could have. Connor Bedard's done enough before he got hurt this season to showcase to Canada's management group that he's quicker, more of a complete player, and still very electric with the puck. Should one of the offensive-minded forwards get hurt early on, Bedard will be the first call.

Celebrini is becoming a force in all three zones for the Sharks, and he should be attached to Crosby's hip throughout the entire tournament. Mark Stone was left off, he's slowing down with age and Canada should focus on team speed at this tournament. Matthew Schaefer replaces Thomas Harley from the 4 Nations, as the super rookie has been turning heads with his dynamic play and veteran poise with the puck so far in his first NHL season. He'll give Canada some life and him and Celebrini will essentially push the envelope for a youth movement with Hockey Canada moving forward past the Olympics.

Canada's stacked, they have every opportunity to win the tournament, and it's all going to come down to goaltending, and if Binnington and Thompson can hold down the fort.
