Vancouver Canucks Rejecting Multiple Trade Offers
The Vancouver Canucks are the worst team in the NHL, and president Jim Rutherford and GM Patrik Allvin are open for business.
Yes, Quinn Hughes' name is out there, and there's been plenty of interest, but to this point of the process, no team has offered the Canucks what they're looking for. The Canucks want a young top-six centre, they want a top-four defenceman, preferably with top-two potential, and they want at least two other pieces, including one first-round pick, and one top prospect. The ask if huge, but for Hughes it should be, he's one of the best three blueliners in the league.
The weird part is the fact this is out of the norm for Rutherford. As normally, once he let's teams know he's open for business, he normally likes to act quick. While talks kick-started immediately, to this point, no deal. The holiday roster freeze is just over a week away, so we'll have to wait and see if something goes down before then.
Trade talks for Kiefer Sherwood are ongoing as well, however, there's a good chance he gets packaged with Hughes in the deal, as several playoff-bound teams are interested in Hughes, but are also interested in Sherwood. The pesky winger's bang and crash style, and finishing abilities is something other teams crave.
Yesterday was the four year anniversary of the hiring of Jim Rutherford.

The #Canucks are essentially back to where they were, if not worse. Fans are even more pissed, the centre depth is completely depleted and team is in last place, both in points and points %. https://t.co/HLNeVB2Moc pic.twitter.com/d4Em7RxiQp
There's been some rumblings the Canucks are also listening to trade offers on both goaltenders, Evander Kane, David Kampf, Teddy Blueger, Tyler Myers, and it's worth noting Conor Garland was supposed to go to a season-ticket event this week, and was pulled from attending.
Trades will be going down in Vancouver, it's just a matter of time.
