Oilers Sign Top Prospect Quinn Hutson To Multi-Year Extension
The Edmonton Oilers have seen enough of top prospect Quinn Hutson this season to know they want to keep him around for a few years. With that, they have signed the previously undrafted 24-year-old to a two-year extension.

The deal will pay Hutson $875,000 annually (the same as his current contract), and will expire in 2028 when he'll be a restricted free agent. He's ascended to the top of the Oilers' prospect ranks with his strong season in the AHL.
The Hutson bloodlines have had a nice run over the past year or so, as Quinn's older brother, Lane Hutson won the Calder Trophy as Rookie of the Year last season, with the Montreal Canadiens. The younger bro signed an extension a few months back that will see him get paid just a bit more than his big brother, with an $8.85M AAV for the next eight years.
As for Quinn, he signed his entry-level deal with the Oilers last year, and has done nothing but impress. The skilled goal-scoring forward has popped 23 goals in 30 games with the Bakersfield Condors at the AHL this season, and added one more in a brief four-game trial with the Oilers just a few weeks back.
He's currently 2nd in the AHL with those 23 goals and 3rd in points with 38. He has had 21 goals in his last 20 games with the Condors.
His last year at Boston University, last season, Hutson recorded 23 goals and 50 points in 38 games.
