Breaking Trade: Michael McCarron Heads To Central Division Rival For Playoff Run
Michael McCarron is one of the biggest names (as in, 6-foot-6, 232 pounds) available this week for teams looking for a massive, rugged presence in their bottom-six heading into the playoffs. The Nashville Predators pulled the pending UFA from their lineup Tuesday night, and we learned shortly after that he has been traded to the Minnesota Wild.

A second round pick in 2028 goes to the Preds.
The 31-year-old is wrapping up a two-year, $900,000 AAV deal this season in Nashville, and will be an ideal physical presence for the Wild as they will be in for a tough battle to get out of the Central Division once the playoffs start.
The move comes just one day after Minnesota also added Robby Fabbri to their fourth line, with a waiver claim.
McCarron has five goals and 12 points this season in 59 games, along with 165 hits, while averaging a career-high 14:30 of ice time.
The hulking center will be reunited with Wild coach John Hynes, who were together in Nashville from 2020 through the end of the 2022-23 season.
It's a good addition for the Wild, as they add some edge and toughness for the postseason.
