Wild Acquire Bobby Brink From Flyers
The Philadelphia Flyers and Minnesota Wild have pulled off one of the more interesting trades of deadline day, swapping young talent in a straight-up deal.
Bobby Brink is headed to the Wild, while David Jiricek is going to the Flyers.
Minnesota adds scoring help up front and Philadelphia is taking a swing on a former high-end defense prospect who still carries real upside.
Bobby Brink gives the Wild needed scoring depth
Minnesota gets a 24-year-old winger who has been a useful piece for the Flyers this season, posting 13 goals and 13 assists in 55 games while averaging 15:29 a night.

Brink is not a huge forward at 5-foot-8, but he brings pace, skill, and the kind of secondary offense the Wild have been looking to add.
There is also a nice local angle here, as the Minnetonka, MN native now heads home to join a Wild team that is still pushing to strengthen its lineup for the stretch run.
David Jiricek gives the Flyers a blue-line upside bet
Jiricek is only 22, was the sixth overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, and never really found his footing with Minnesota, going pointless in 25 NHL games this season while averaging 11:43 per game.
He also logged time in the AHL with Iowa, where he recorded two goals and eight assists in 24 games. The tools are still there, though.

To #LetsGoFlyers
- (D) David Jiricek (3/3 - $918,333 AAV)
To #mnwild
- (F) Bobby Brink (2/2 - $1.5M AAV) https://t.co/5t6XGe4cT7
He is a 6-foot-4 right-shot defenseman with pedigree, and the Flyers can offer a clearer path to NHL minutes on the back end, something the Wild could not consistently give him this year.
This one has a real chance to be a win-win. Brink was a solid young player in Philadelphia, but Jiricek is exactly the type of buy-low, high-upside move rebuilding teams should be making when the opportunity is there.
