NHL Rumors: 2 Potential Trade Destinations For Jets' Luke Schenn
The Winnipeg Jets are standing out as prime sellers for the 2026 NHL trade deadline. With the Jets being among the bottom teams in the NHL, it would not be surprising in the slightest if they move out some of their players ahead of the deadline. Luke Schenn is one of their top trade candidates due to his pending UFA status.
Because of this, let's look at three teams that could look to acquire Schenn from Winnipeg.
Buffalo Sabres
The Sabres need another veteran right-shot defenseman on their blueline, so it would make a lot of sense if they added Schenn. If the Sabres acquired Schenn, he would give them another option for their bottom pairing and penalty kill. The two-time Stanley Cup winner would also be a nice mentor for their younger players as they look to officially break their 14-year playoff drought.
Detroit Red Wings
The Red Wings have been on the hunt for a right-shot blueliner, so they could be a team to watch when it comes to Schenn. He would provide them with an upgrade over other options like Travis Hamonic and Jacob Bernard-Docker on their bottom pairing. In addition, he would give the Red Wings' blueline more bite, which is a need for them right now.
