St. Louis Blues Sign Hobey Baker Finalist NCAA Free Agent

The St. Louis Blues have made a move for their future, signing one of the top NCAA college hockey free agents, landing forward Felix Trudeau on a two-year entry-level contract.

The 23-year-old 6'2" forward will now join the Blues' AHL affiliate Springfield for the remainder of the season on a professional tryout.

Trudeau, playing for Sacred Heart University in the AHA conference, was second in the nation in goals, with 25, and was sixth nationally with 48 points in 39 games. Additionally, his 12 power‑play goals were tops in the NCAA. He had a plus-14 rating, and recorded 87 penalty minutes.

He earned honors as the AHA’s Player of the Year, and is a Top 10 finalist for the Hobey Baker Award as the top NCAA men’s hockey player.

Trudeau is a dominant offensive force, an elite playmaker with a deadly shot, and a high hockey IQ. He also has the size to protect the puck and win puck battles.

His ELC will begin next season with the Blues.

St. Louis is on the cusp of a big rebuild, having dealt away veterans Brayden Schenn and Justin Faulk at the deadline earlier this month, with others on the trade block including Robert Thomas, Jordan Kyrou and Jordan Binnington.
