TRADE: San Jose Sharks & Vancouver Canucks Complete 1-for-1 Deal
The NHL's trade market is as hot as ever as this busy Thursday included the San Jose Sharks and Vancouver Canucks doing some business together.
The Sharks acquired defenceman Jett Woo from the Canucks in exchange for defenceman Jack Thompson. Woo, 25, has collected eight points in 26 games this season with the Abbotsford Canucks of the American Hockey League. He's been used mostly in a depth role and has also logged 78 penalty minutes this season.

The six-foot, 205-pound blueliner was originally a second-round pick in 2018 of the Canucks, and helped Abbotsford win a Calder Cup last season. Woo appeared in 22 playoff games, scoring one goal, and five assists, along with a plus-8 rating.

Thompson, 23, joins the Canucks, and much like Woo, has played in the AHL this season, dressing in 42 games for the San Jose Barracuda, recording 12 points, including three goals. He has 34 games of NHL experience, posting 10 points between the Sharks and Tampa Bay Lightning.
This is certainly a minor trade for two teams who are very actively involved in trade conversations. The Sharks are in on Sergei Bobrovsky, and almost every defenceman that's available, meanwhile, the Canucks are in talks to move Elias Pettersson, Brock Boeser, Evander Kane, and Conor Garland.
