Islanders Fire Patrick Roy, Name Notable Replacement
Trying to salvage their season with just 4 games to play, the slumping New York Islanders have fired head coach Patrick Roy and replaced him with Pete DeBoer.

Roy had two years left on his contract.
DeBoer will try to turn the Isles fortunes around in time to salvage a playoff berth. They've lost four straight games and are 3-7-0 in their last 10. They have only a one-point hold on third place in the Metropolitan Division, and also on a playoff spot in general.
The hard-charging Philadelphia Flyers are just one point back heading into play on Sunday.
More to come...
