NHL Rumors: Stars & Flames Emerging As Potential Summer Trade Partners
The Dallas Stars have once again been one of the NHL's best teams this season. It is not surprising, as they have plenty of talent on their roster. As a result of this, it would not be surprising in the slightest if they look to continue to boost their group during the summer.
The Calgary Flames, on the other hand, missed the playoffs and moved on from several notable players this campaign. They will likely continue to listen to offers on their top veteran players this summer.
When looking at the Flames' roster, one player who the Stars could have on their radar during the offseason is Blake Coleman. They have been connected to him in the past, and he is exactly the kind of top-nine forward that a top contender like the Stars should be looking to add during the summer.
If the Stars acquired Coleman, he would be a strong addition to their third line. Furthermore, due to his strong two-way play, he would be an option for both the Stars' power play and penalty kill if acquired. He is also capable of playing multiple positions, which would make him a very valuable addition to the Stars' roster.
In 69 games this season for the Flames, Coleman had 20 goals, 35 points, 152 hits, and a plus-12 rating. With numbers like these, he would be a strong pickup for the Stars, and it will be intriguing to see if they try to land him this offseason from here.
