3 Free-Agent Destinations for Blue Jackets' Charlie Coyle
Charlie Coyle had a big 2025-26 season with the Columbus Blue Jackets, posting 20 goals and 58 points in 82 games. He chose a great time to have a strong campaign, as he is now entering the summer as a pending unrestricted free agent.
If the Blue Jackets are unable to re-sign Coyle, expect these three teams to target him in free agency.
Los Angeles Kings
The Kings desperately need to add at least one center this offseason, with Anze Kopitar retiring. With Coyle being the top center in this year's market, it would not be surprising in the slightest if the Kings pursued him. While he is not a true first-line center, he would help give the Kings' top nine a boost.
Philadelphia Flyers
The Flyers could be a team to keep an eye on when it comes to Coyle. Their biggest need is another impactful center, and Coyle could be a strong fit on their roster because of it. With the Flyers taking a big step in the right direction this season, bringing in a veteran like Coyle on a short-term deal could benefit them.
Minnesota Wild
Could a reunion between the Wild and Coyle come to fruition? The Wild need to improve at the center position, and bringing in Coyle would help them do just that. Furthermore, his high amount of playoff experience could make him a strong fit on a Wild club that should be in its Stanley Cup window for the next few years at least.
