NHL Rumors: Devils & Kraken Emerging As Potential Trade Partners
The New Jersey Devils disappointed in a significant way this season. After entering the campaign with high expectations, they instead missed the playoffs. Now, they should be in for a very busy offseason.
It is clear that the Devils need to improve their roster if they hope to be better in 2026-27. One of their biggest needs is another top-six forward.
When looking at trade candidates around the NHL, Seattle Kraken forward Jared McCann stands out as an interesting potential option for the Devils to target.
If the Devils landed McCann, he could slot perfectly in their top six. He could thrive playing on the Devils' top line with Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt due to his high offensive skill. He would also be an obvious choice for the Devils' power play if acquired from Seattle.
With the Kraken continuing to struggle, there is a real expectation that they will listen to offers for McCann this summer. Because of this, don't be surprised if the Devils look to acquire him. The fit looks very good on paper.
In 52 games this season with the Kraken, McCann had 20 goals, 20 assists, and 40 points.
