It's a two-year deal for the left-shot center with an AAV of $1.075 million through the end of the 2027-28 season.
Halliday was Ottawa's No. 7 prospect heading into the season, and spent a good chunk of the year getting his feet wet in the nation's capital. He got into 30 games, recording four goals and seven assists for 11 points.
He also spent 29 games at Belleville in the AHL, where he registered an impressive 27 assists, and 29 points.
“Stephen has made tremendous progress in his game. He’s very dedicated and demonstrates a real passion for hockey,” said GM Steve Staios. “We’re thrilled to have reached this new agreement and look forward to seeing what the future holds.”
“He’s a smart player," head coach Travis Green said earlier in the season. "He’s got good hands. He’s big. He’s got good hockey sense."
Halliday, 23, was a fourth-round pick in the 2022 Draft for Ottawa.
He has the potential to be a playmaking power forward with good size (6'4", 212 lbs) and skill.
