3 Trade Destinations for Maple Leafs' Nick Robertson

Nick Robertson is set to be a restricted free agent this offseason, and there's been plenty of speculation brewing that at his exit interview, Robertson asked for a change of scenery.

Even with Craig Berube getting fired, this would likely be better for Robertson's development, as he hasn't been able to land a top-six consistent role with the Maple Leafs. The speedy winger has asked for a trade before and Brad Treliving wasn't able to accommodate.

With Gavin McKenna on the way, and the emergence of Easton Cowan, Robertson is expendable, and here's three teams to keep an eye on this summer:

Calgary Flames

The Flames are a perfect fit for Robertson as they're entering a full rebuild and will be making multiple moves this summer. Defenceman Zach Whitecloud is on the Maple Leafs radar as a potential trade fit, and there could be a move coming involving these two this summer. With Treliving gone, the Flames are once again aligning as a trade partner for Toronto this offseason.

Los Angeles Kings

Robertson's from California, so his preference would be to return closer to home to play in front of family and friends. The Kings were one of the worst offensive teams in the league and could use more production from their wings. Robertson's a shooter, he has 30-goal potential, and with more playing time, he could hit that as soon as next season. Keep an eye on the Kings.

Winnipeg Jets

The Jets are looking to make some moves to bolster their forward group this summer and could see Robertson as someone who can add more speed, and scoring. The Jets aren't blowing it up and will be looking to add, even though there's been a few reports about Connor Hellebuyck's name on the trade market. The Leafs need bottom six help, and they need to reshape their blueline, so Robertson could be an option here to use some of their depth, and address other parts of Toronto's lineup.
