Canadiens Extend Ivan Demidov With Massive Deal

The Montreal Canadiens have nine more seasons of Ivan Demidov. With one year left on his entry-level deal, Demidov has now re-upped on an eight-year extension at a huge $9.125 million AAV.

The contract includes $58M in signing bonuses and a 10-team no-trade clause over the final three years.

The electric young Russian forward posted 19 goals and 62 points in his rookie season at the age of 20. He finished as runner-up for the Calder as Rookie of the Year.
