Two Teams On Dylan Larkin's 3-Team List Appear To Be OUT

The Dylan Larkin drama continues to play out in Detroit, but of his three-team trade list, it appears that only one is a realistic destination at this point, while the other two are OUT. That seems to be the case, according to Minnesota Wild insider Michael Russo, speaking on The Sheet this week. 

Two teams are out on Dylan Larkin, but Minnesota is still interested. 👀

According to Michael Russo on The Sheet, the Vegas Golden Knights and Florida Panthers currently don’t have interest in Larkin, while the Minnesota Wild still do.

Russo says that Quinn Hughes has a lot to do with Larkin's continuing connection to Minnesota, and the hope that the Wild will eventually win out in the Larkin sweepstakes. 

"Obviously Quinn has a lot of inside information here because he skates with Larkin on a daily basis in Ann Arbor. So he knows that Dylan's preference would be to come to Minnesota. 

"Vegas and Florida right now don't have interest in him. But the Wild still do."

Up until now, the Red Wings haven't been impressed with any of the Wild's offers, but as Russo notes, Detroit doesn't currently have a GM in place, so whenever they name a new hockey boss, there's a potential for discussions to pick up and for that to change. But only within reason:

"The problem there is the Wild's assets are what it they are. I mean they're not going to magically suddenly give up (star winger Matt) Boldy in a Dylan Larkin trade."

Detroit's front office has made it clear that they want an established young cornerstone player in return for Larkin, rather than futures or draft picks, and they have been focused on Boldy as their price.

And so the Larkin saga continues to drag on.
