3 Teams Make Significant Trade Offers for Connor Hellebuyck

Connor Hellebuyck is waiting to be traded by the Winnipeg Jets, and with training camps opening in the coming weeks, expectations are, a deal gets done very soon. The Jets have been discussing trade specifics with a number of teams, and according to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, there's three teams heavily involved as potential suitors.

According to LeBrun, the Carolina Hurricanes, Buffalo Sabres, and Utah Mammoth continue to be heavily involved in trade discussions. The Hurricanes seem to be offering the Jets restricted free-agent defenceman Alexander Nikishin, along with goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov, forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi, and multiple draft picks.

The Sabres are staying away from including Josh Doan in any deal, but seem open to moving out a couple of recent top picks, along with one of Zach Benson, and Ryan McLeod. Goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen has traded protection, and there's believe that Winnipeg is on his no-trade list.

The Mammoth have Karel Vejmelka who also has trade protection. The 30-year-old has a 10-team no-trade list, so the Jets are likely zoning in on former Detroit Red Wing Sebastian Cossa, forward Tij Iginla, and a couple of high draft picks.

Jets' GM Kevin Cheveldayoff has been in this position before with Pierre-Luc Dubois and Jacob Trouba, and both times he pulled off fantastic trades. So, we'll have to wait and see what kind of haul Cheveldayoff can get for his former Vezina award winning goaltender.
