Free-Agent Connor Ingram Linked To 3 Teams

Connor Ingram is still sitting without a contract as the best free-agent goaltender available, and from word around the league, it feels like Connor Hellebuyck's trade could be holding up a few teams making offers.

The Winnipeg Jets are working on a Hellebuyck trade and while talks are ongoing, to this point there's been several teams linked, but no deal that feels imminent. Hellebuyck's trade talks have been linked to the Buffalo Sabres, Carolina Hurricanes, San Jose Sharks, Utah Mammoth, and Vegas Golden Knights.

As for Ingram, the 29-year-old goaltender is coming off a decent season, winning 16 games, including two shutouts, while posting a 2.60 goals against average. There's going to be a team who caves in, it's just a matter of when, and not if.

Once Ingram signs a new deal, expect to see it as a one-way contract at around $1 million. He won't have to settle for a two-way contract, and should be able to land some security, if not, his agent should be fired. 

Ingram could sign with the Jets, especially if they don't get back a true 1-A or 1-B goalie in the package. Stuart Skinner signed in Winnipeg this summer, and is ready to take the brunt of the workload. Along with the Jets, the Ottawa Senators have been linked to Ingram for months, and appear to have significant interest. 

Along with the Senators and Jets, don't be surprised to see the Pittsburgh Penguins circle in. They have Arturs Silovs and a couple of prospects who are waiting in the wings, and could bring in some more NHL experience by adding Ingram into their mix. 

Ingram on the move in the coming days, as the Oilers have moved on, and Ingram very well could be indirectly tied into the Hellebuyck trade.
