Report: Dylan Larkin Expands Trade List — 3 New Teams Linked

As the Dylan Larkin drama continues to simmer in Detroit, it appears that he has added at least two, and up to four more destinations that he'd be willing to go to.

Initially, we had heard that the Florida Panthers, Minnesota Wild, and Vegas Golden Knights were the teams he had approved, and then later the Dallas Stars appeared to be added. 

Now, Elliotte Friedman is reporting on the 32 Thoughts podcast the following: 

One of the things I heard about Larkin is that there are more teams that he's willing to go to than what have been reported... I think it's more now. I think some of the other teams that are there are Colorado, Washington, and I suspect, in case people didn't know them already, Dallas & Tampa... I think it's somewhere around eight (teams).

I don't think it's Canada, it's still in the United States. But I have heard from several places now, the number of teams he's willing to go to is larger than have been reported — and it's obviously teams he thinks can win.

We had been hearing for the past few months that none of Minnesota, Vegas or Florida had (or were offering) a package that satisfied the Red Wings. Perhaps this new development gets the talks buzzing again, and perhaps we could still see Larkin on the move at some point. 

For now, after reporting to camp with an upper-body injury, it sounds like Larkin could return to the ice with his Wings teammates on Saturday. 

Larkin asked out of Detroit at the end of last season, but trade talks sputtered, and the team had no GM in place most of the summer after Steve Yzerman was removed from the position in earlly July. 

The 30-year-old center still has five years remaining on his contract with the Red Wings, at an $8.7 million AAV.
