Tampa Bay Lighting Have Multiple Trade Offers Rejected

The Tampa Bay Lightning have been working the phones trying to pull of a preseason trade, but turns out they've had zero luck finding a trade partner.

The Lightning have been trying to move goaltender Jonas Johansson since they've acquired Dennis Hildeby from the Toronto Maple Leafs earlier in the offseason. Hildeby was acquired for versatile forward Nick Paul.

As for Johansson, he appeared in 25 games, posting a 11-10-2 record, along with a 3.29 goals against average, and .884 save percentage. The Swedish netminder is owed $1.2 million average annual value for the 2026-27 season.

There's several teams who have three goalies in training camp and five were waived on Wednesday. While Johansson hasn't been dealt to this point, it's expected that the Montreal Canadiens will trade Samuel Montembeault before Tuesday's season opener.

Keep an eye on Tampa Bay, they continue to be in the market to move Johansson and it will be interesting to see if a team claims the 31-year-old goaltender, now that they could land him for free, instead of giving up a late draft pick or b-level prospect.
