Vancouver Canucks continue to shop Jake DeBrusk
Jake DeBrusk was hopeful the Vancouver Canucks were on the rise, and as he's seen the past couple of years, that hasn't been the case at all. For now, DeBrusk remains in Vancouver, but there's a ton of rumblings ongoing that management is trying to find a new home for the veteran winger ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The Canucks continue to rebuild on the fly, and DeBrusk prefers to play for a contender, and not a team that's heading in the wrong direction, with not very much promise to turn things around.
The 29-year-old versatile winger is signed for $5.5 million AAV through the 2031 season, and this year, owns a full no-movement clause, which then turns to a 15-team no-trade list. DeBrusk had a decent season in 2025-26, scoring 23 goals and 42 points in 81 games, averaging 16:51 of ice-time per game.
In his first season as a Canuck in 2024-25, DeBrusk posted 28 goals and 48 points in 82 games, so it's obvious regardless of being on a very poor team, the power forward can score in bunches. With his playoff experience, and considering his contract, there's lots of interest in DeBrusk, it's just a matter of finding him a new team he approves.
