Report: Flyers trade talks involving Senators, Blackhawks

The Philadelphia Flyers are looking for help down the middle of the ice.

Multiple reports have surfaced stating the Flyers have been working the phones, trying to deal from a position of strength, the wing, to find a proven center, who can jump into their top-nine, or more ideally, their top-six.

Daily Faceoff's Anthony Di Marco is one of the best for Flyers intel, and recently opened up about what he's been hearing from his sources on the search for center help in Philly.
Sticking with the Senators, the Flyers have liked forward Ridly Greig going back to the 2020 NHL Draft. Greig, 24, is a natural center but has played the majority of his NHL career on the wing due to Ottawa being deep down the middle; he has one goal and two assists in 10 games this season.

Speaking with a Flyers source Monday, DFO was told that while the team does still like Greig, they aren’t sure what his overall upside is...Frank Nazar is one name that came up while in discussion with Flyers sources Monday.

According to a source, there is a belief that the Blackhawks could view 2025-first-round pick Anton Frondell’s skillset as more of an authentic third-line center, which could (theoretically) push Nazar up to a second-line role. Nazar has three goals and one assist through nine games this season. The other name is center Oliver Moore, 21, who has been pushed to the wing often in Chicago with Connor Bedard, Frondell and Nazar occupying the spots down the middle.

The Flyers are expected to trade either Travis Konecny or Owen Tippett to help land themselves a proven center, or one with a ton of untapped potential, and upside.
