Senators' Linus Ullmark leaves game injured against Panthers

A terrible scene in Ottawa on Wednesday night, as goaltender Linus Ullmark left the Senators matchup against the Florida Panthers with an injury.

The incident occurred in the third period, as Ullmark look to suffer a lower-body injury. Hopefully it's nothing serious, and not the same ol' story, as Ullmark has a long history of not being able to consistently be available.

While all the attention was on Brady Tkachuk coming into the game, Ullmark's been the true story of the Sens this season. The veteran goaltender has turned back the clock and is leading Ottawa back to relevancy.

When Ullmark stayed down for a few minutes, while there was a scrum at the benches, you knew that things were going from bad to worse. He had to be helped off the ice by teammate Claude Giroux and the Senators' training staff.

Up to his injury, Ullmark was once again stellar, stopping 16 of 17 shots, letting in an early power-play scummy goal to ex-teammate Brady Tkachuk. Samuel Ersson came in for relief for the Senators, making one save as the Sens won the wild affair 5-1.

At this point no timetable is set, but it didn't look good. Expect to see the Senators go out and get a goalie if this is serious. Ullmark was on fire coming into the game, posting a 7-1-0 record, along with a .945 save percentage.
