Top-3 Detroit Red Wings Trade Candidates For 2026-27
The Detroit Red Wings are a mess and quickly becoming the punchline to this NHL season. Dylan Larkin's trade demands, chants of sell the team in the home opener, and everything is going from bad to worse, in Motown.
While the Larkin trade talks continue, there's several Red Wings who are on the trade market this season. Here's the top-3 trade candidates out of Detroit this season:
Alex DeBrincat
The scoring winger is a pending unrestricted free agent this season, and while he'd like to stick around, with how messy things are getting, many people around the league feel DeBrincat will end up getting traded to a contender. DeBrincat's owed $7.8 million AAV this season, and owns a 16-team no-trade clause. Keep an eye on the Philadelphia Flyers as a potential trade destination.
Dylan Larkin
Yes, Larkin will be traded, it's just a matter of time. With Barkov injured, the Florida Panthers remain a top choice for Larkin, and a potential destinations, if they can somehow make the money work. The Flyers, Golden Knights, and Sharks continue to be linked, and it's going to be on Larkin to open up to more teams if he wants a resolution, sooner than later.
Justin Faulk
The Red Wings acquired Faulk last season, and since they're not going to contend this season, will very likely move off the pending UFA. Faulk is owed $6.5 million AAV, and owns a 15-team no-trade clause. Faulk has some say in the matter, and will very likely end up on a contender before March's trade deadline. If the Red Wings retain 50%, Faulk will have a long list of suitors.
