Ty Conklin Trade Rumors

Trade rumors continue to surround the St. Louis Blues for the 2011 NHL season. The Blues are second last in Western Conference with 54 points. The Blues were expecting to make a push for the playoffs when they aquired Jaroslav Halak from the Montreal Canadiens in 2010. Unfortunately, for the Blues, their star goaltender has recently went down with injury making it unlikely for the team to make the playoffs.

Ty Conklin has been struggling with his backup duties this season, with a SV%.879 and a GAA 3.33. Armstrong is looking to trade Conklin. Conlkin is no stranger to being traded in the NHL, playing for the Oilers, Blue Jackets, Sabres, Penguins, Red Wings and Blues in the past five years! The Red Wings have been making an offer for Conklin. They need someone capable of backing up Jimmy Howard because Chris Osgood is injured. The Wings tried to sign Evegeni Nabokov but the goaltender was claimed off waivers by the NY Islanders.

Conklin has played well for the Red Wings in the past with 25 wins 11 losses. Look for the Wings to offer a 3-4th round pick. For the Blues, Halak is supposed to be coming back from injury soon and if he does, then Armstrong is willing to part ways with Conklin before the trade deadline.
