Montreal Canadiens Trade Rumors

Trade rumors continue to surround the Montreal Canadiens for the 2011-2012 NHL season. The Canadiens had a dissapointing first round loss to their rival the Boston Bruins in the playoffs and are looking to shake things up. They recently signed Andrei Kostitsyn to a one year deal. The contract is worth $3.25 million. It is fair for a third line left winger who gets around 20 goals and 50 points in a season.

The Habs are focusing on their free agent defensemen, Andei Markov, Josh Gorges, James Wisniewski and Jaroslav Spacek. There is not enough cap space to sign all their defense, so they are looking to trade Markov or Wisniewski. Look for the Detroit Red Wings, New Jersey Devils, Carolina Hurricanes and Minnesota Wild to make a trade with the Montreal Canadiens.
