Detroit Red Wings Trade Rumors

Trade rumors continue to surround the Detroit Red Wings for the 2011-2012 NHL offseason. The Red Wings were eliminated a consecutive year from the playoffs by the San Jose Sharks. With Brian Rafalski retiring, and Nicklas Lidstrom's future uncertain, they need to target some unrestricted free agent defencemen on July 1st. Likely free agent acquisitions are Christian Ehrhoff, Joni Pitkanen, Kevin Bieksa and James Wisniewski.

Jaromir Jagr may also be signed by the Red Wings. He told reporters that he will definitely not play in the KHL next season. The 39 year old winger wants to rejoin the NHL and play for a playoff contender. The Wings are his most likely choice. His estimated contract is a one year deal for $2.5 million. Jagr rumors have been popping up for ages but I get the sense that he is ready to make a comeback. He plays for either the Detroit Red Wings or the Pittsburgh Penguins. Stay tuned for more latest NHL Free Agent Predictions.
