Trade rumors continue to surround the Philadelphia Flyers for the 2011-2012 NHL season. The Flyers are looking to upgrade their goaltender after their dissapointing exit from the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Their young goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky has looked promising but they need a veteran goaltender to lead them deep into the playoffs.

The Flyers are looking to acquire unrestricted free agent goalies Tomas Vokoun or Ilya Bryzgalov. Both goalies have the ability to solidify the backend, and they do not come cheap. They will ask around $6 million per year.

In order to acquire a veteran goaltender, the Flyers have to dump some salary as they are currently very close to the cap. Scott Hartnell, Kris Versteeg, Nikolai Zherdev, Ville Leino and Matt Carle are players who are very likely to be traded in the near future to clear up cap space. Then, they can sign either Vokoun or Bryzgalov.
