The latest trade rumors surround the Vancouver Canucks for the 2011-2012 NHL offseason. The Canucks who fell 1 game short of winning the Stanley Cup are intent on resigning their unrestricted free agents. On Monday, they signed Kevin Bieksa to a 5 year deal. The cap hit is $4.6 million. Playing with Dan Hamhuis the two are going to be a great pair of defencemen for years to come. Bieksa took less money than he can get on the open market because he wants to stay in Vancouver.

The Canucks turn their attention towards another free agent defenceman, Christian Ehrhoff. Erhroff plans on testing the free agency waters. Look for the the Detroit Red Wings, Edmonton Oilers, and Minnesota Wild to make an offer in free agency.
