Tomas Kaberle Signs 3 Years with Hurricanes

The rumors about Tomas Kaberle leaving the Boston Bruins came to fruition for the 2011-2012 NHL season. Kaberle who was an unrestricted free agent signed with the Carolina Hurricanes for 3 years. The contract is worth $4.25 million per year.

The cap hit is a slight overpayment but given that he was one of the last free agent defencemen to be signed, it is understandeable. It was just last year Kaberle was a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and was traded to the Boston Bruins, only to end up signing with the Carolina Hurricanes.
