Rick Nash Trade Rumors

Trade rumors are running rampant when it comes to Rick Nash and the Columbus Blue Jackets for the 2012 NHL season. The Blue Jackets are dead last, a huge letdown for a team which recently added a number one center in Jeff Carter. Many players are on the chopping block in Columbus.

Nash is 27 years old and in his prime. He has 32 points in 46 games this year and is a minus 21. The power right winger is locked up until the year 2018 and comes with a cap hit of $7.8 million a season. He has played for a decade with one team, the Columbus Blue Jackets. He is the face of the franchise so it would have to take a really good return to trade him.

More likely to leave town is Jeff Carter or Derick Brassard. Many teams are interested in acquiring Rick Nash including the St Louis Blues, Nashville Predators, Washington Capitals and Toronto Maple Leafs.
