David Jones of the Colorado Avalanche is being shopped for the 2012 NHL Trade Deadline. The Avalanche are out of the playoff picture and are looking at revamping their team. A trade is imminent in Colorado.

Jones has 23 points in 50 games playing on the top line with Paul Stastny. At age 27, the right winger is hitting his prime. He has a cap hit of $2.5 million and becomes an unrestricted free agent on July 1st. A likely trade scenario is for the Colorado Avalanche to package him with a defenseman such as Kyle Quincey or Ryan Wilson in return for an upgraded top-line winger like Ales Hemsky from the Edmonton Oilers.
