The Buffalo Sabres are close to trading left winger Matt Moulson before the March 5, 2014 deadline. Moulson is capable of scoring 30 goals and is a 60 point player with the right line mates. He was traded earlier in the season from the NY Islanders to the Buffalo Sabres in return for Thomas Vanek. With his new team, the Sabres, he has struggled to score goals and fit in.

Moulson, who is 30 years old, is signed to a $3.13 million cap hit contract that expires on July 1. The Sabres have 10 combined selections in the first two rounds of the 2014 and 2015 NHL drafts. GM Tim Murray is going on a draft pick shopping spree and looking to add more 1st and 2nd round picks.

The LA Kings and Pittsburgh Penguins are buyers, seeking to acquire a top line winger to help them contend for the Stanley Cup. Look for a blockbuster deal to occur where the LA Kings trade Tanner Pearson, Matt Greene, a first and a third round draft pick to the Buffalo Sabres in return for Christian Ehrhoff and Matt Moulson.
