The Buffalo Sabres traded Thomas Vanek, Ryan Miller and Steve Ott. GM Tim Murray has shown that no player is untouchable. He has received several phone calls regarding Tyler Myers.

Myers has the potential to be a top pairing defenseman. This season he has struggled with a -23 rating. The 24 year old is signed until 2019 to an annual cap hit contract of $5.5 million. The Sabres plan to draft defenseman Aaron Eckblad first overall and may move Myers if the price is right.

There are reports that the Toronto Maple Leafs, Colorado Avalanche and Edmonton Oilers are in a bidding war. The Leafs are offering Nazem Kadri and Nikolai Kulemin, the Avalanche are offering Ryan O'Reilly and the Oilers are offering Jordan Eberle in return for Tyler Myers.
