Josh Gorges to Washington Capitals

Montreal Canadiens Josh Gorges is the subject of rampant trade rumors leading up to 2014 NHL Free Agency. Gorges does not fit into the long term plans of the Habs, and GM Marc Bergevin is listening to offers from a few teams.

The 29 year old is signed to a $3.9 million annual cap hit contract until the 2017-2018 season. He is a stay at home defenseman who is good at blocking shots.

The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Washington Capitals are in a bidding war. The Maple Leafs are offering Joffrey Lupul and the Capitals are offering Troy Brouwer in return for Josh Gorges.
