Ryan Miller to Vancouver Canucks

The top unrestricted free agent goaltender available is St. Louis Blues Ryan Miller. Miller is coming off a $6.25 million average annual contract and is looking for a new team. The St. Louis Blues said Brian Elliott and Jake Allen are going to be their goalies for next season, leaving Miller as the odd goalie out. The Blues need to conserve their cap space for pursuing free agent center Paul Stastny.

The Canucks are in desperate need of a number one goalie after trading both Cory Schneider and Roberto Luongo. GM Jim Benning is aggressively pursuing Miller in the hopes to get his team back into the playoffs.

The 33 year old goalie is seeking a multiyear contract that pays him an average annual salary of $6+ million. The Vancouver Canucks have plenty of cap space but if Ryan Miller demands too much money, there are several other free agent goalies available for cheaper - Jonas Hiller, Martin Brodeur, Tim Thomas and Tomas Vokoun.
