James Wisniewski Available for Trade

The Columbus Blue Jackets are shopping James Wisniewski and likely to trade him before the March 2 deadline. The Blue Jackets are out of the playoff picture and willing to part ways with Wisniewski, who recently gave a list of 10 teams he would accept a trade to.

The 31 year old right defenseman has 7 goals and 20 assists for 27 points in 52 games played. Last season, he set a career high with 51 points. Wisniewski is not a free agent and has two seasons left on his contract at $5.5 million AAV.

The Blue Jackets are looking for a first round pick in return. The Detroit Red Wings, Anaheim Ducks, Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning are in a bidding war over James Wisniewski.
