Todd McLellan Becomes Second Highest Paid Coach

Todd McLellan signed a 5 year deal with the Edmonton Oilers worth $15 million. 

At $3 million per season, McLellan is now the second highest paid coach in the NHL. The contract is not overpayment because he is an excellent coach. The Buffalo Sabres are likely to have offered McLellan much more money if he was still available.

The highest paid coach is Mike Babcock who makes $6.25 million per season on a recently signed contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
