NHL Rumors: Latest on trade talks surrounding Blues' Jordan Kyrou

The St. Louis Blues have a major decision to make over the course of the next week. Keep Jordan Kyrou among their core, or move out the scoring winger before his no-trade protection kicks in.

Kyrou is signed through the 2030-31 season at $8.12 million AAV, and receives protection on his contract the opening day of free agency next week. He recorded 70 points in 82 games last season, and with the Blues having limited cap space to upgrade their roster for next season, Kyrou, along with captain Brayden Schenn could be trade candidates worth keeping an eye on.

Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli has had Kyrou on his trade radar for quite some time now, and recently moved Kyrou up onto his trade targets board:

Kyrou joins the board as a player just days away from his full ‘no-trade’ clause kicking in on July 1. He’s been a very productive player, averaging 35 goals and 71 points over the last three seasons. So why would the Blues move him? That’s a big commitment remaining. Plus the calculus that rival teams have made is that GM Doug Armstrong will see rookie Jimmy Snuggerud as a player who can effectively soon replace Kyrou. The Blues are a middling team that aren’t young, and this may be one way to continue to turn over the roster.

Seravalli has Kyrou ranked #2 on his board of 40 trade targets, so there's obviously a lot going on behind the scenes in St. Louis. The Blues have just $5 million in cap space heading into the summer, so Kyrou, Schenn and even Jordan Binnington could be in play.
