NHL Changes Overtime Rules to 3 on 3

The NHL is going to make a major rule change to overtime. According to Bob McKenzie of TSN:

The NHL will go to 3-on-3 overtime for 5 minutes in regular season games next season.

The board of governors still has to vote on this rule change, however, there is a 99% chance the rule change passes. Hockey fans have complained about the shootout for years, and this rule change means fewer games will go to the shootout.
