RUMOR: Zero Percent Chance Jets Sign Both Andrew Ladd and Dustin Byfuglien
The Winnipeg Jets are going to trade one of Andrew Ladd or Dustin Byfuglien.
Ladd is signed to a $4.4M contract through the 2015-16 season. The 29 year old left winger tallied 24 goals and 38 assists for 62 points in 81 games last season. Byfuglien is signed to a $5.2M contract through the 2015-16 season. The 30 year old defenseman tallied 18 goals and 27 assists for 45 points in 69 games last season.
As an unrestricted free agent, Ladd will demand a 7 year contract worth $6M per season. Byfuglien will demand a 7 year contract worth $7M per season. The Jets are stacked with right-handed defensemen: Tyler Myers, Jacob Trouba, Paul Postma and Byfuglien.
The Winnipeg Jets are looking for a left-handed defenseman in return. The Edmonton Oilers, Detroit Red Wings, Boston Bruins, and Ottawa Senators are interested in acquiring Dustin Byfuglien.
