NHL Trade Rumors: Evander Kane to Vancouver Canucks

Trade rumors are running rampant over Evander Kane of the Buffalo Sabres. Kane is in trouble with the law again, after being charged with criminal trespass and up to four counts of non-criminal harassment stemming from an incident at a Buffalo nightclub.

Kane was handcuffed when he met with detectives outside of the city’s Central Booking Bureau.

There is speculation Sabres GM Tim Murray is going to trade Kane if the Sabres are able to sign Jimmy Vesey on August 15, when he is eligible to be signed. The front runner to acquire the 24 year old Kane is the Vancouver Canucks.

Kane was born and raised in Vancouver, where he played his junior hockey. Recently, the Province's Jason Botchford said via TSN 1040 radio:

There’s no doubt about it, the Vancouver Canucks are going to be in on Evander Kane. Ownership loves Kane. Jim Benning really likes Kane. Trevor? He’s maybe a little bit ambivalent, but he could be won over. They’re going to be in on Evander Kane.
