Have the Montreal Canadiens been lying to us?

Montreal, love them or hate them, there's no denying their fan base is one of the strongest in the league. The Canadiens have even managed to sell out over 500 games over the last few years, or did they?

In a recent radio show on 98.5 FM, Ray Lalonde accuses the Canadiens organization of  lying to its fans for 2 years about their sell-out streak of games. He believes thousands of seats have gone unsold, mostly during the 2015-16 season where the Canadiens missed the playoffs entirely.

That being said, can you blame the Canadiens fans for not showing up to games? There was a huge worry about the Canadiens being unable to sell out their home opener this season, but the prices to show up to games isn't very... enticing. The price raise between the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons ranged from 2.5%-22%. Furthermore, according to TiqIQ, the Canadiens held their 6th highest average ticket price at 218.30$ in the 2014-15 season.

With the poor start they have gotten off to, some might say "The Price is NOT right."
