BREAKING: Matt Duchene has been traded!

Hockey fans, rejoice! For the Matt Duchene sweepstakes have finally come to a close, with the star center being sent to the Ottawa Senators in a blockbuster 3 way deal.

The trade involved the Nashville Predators, Ottawa Senators, and Colorado Avalanche, and breaks down like this:

To Ottawa: Matt Duchene
To Nashville: Kyle Turris
To Colorado: Prospects D Samuel Girard, LW Vladislav Kamenev, C Shane Bowers, along with G Andrew Hammond, Ottawa's 2018 1st and 3rd, and Nashville's 2018 2nd

The Ottawa Senators acquire a stud top 6 center, a player they've been looking for since trading away Mika Zibanejad. With 585 games under his belt, Duchene has picked up 178 goals and 428 points with the Avalanche.

To Nashville goes Kyle Turris, another solid second line center that will fit perfectly behind Ryan Johansen. Collecting 320 points in 544 games is nothing to scoff at, and he will be a welcome addition to the Predators, helping to fill the one hole they have on the team (center depth).

Lastly, the Colorado Avalanche picked up a boat load of prospects. None are older than 21 years old, which fits well if the Avalanche are going to completely rebuild. Picking up a center, left winger, and defense man is really an all-around help for the team's future. Andrew Hammond is the poster boy for the term "flash in the pan". The 29 year old had a stellar stint with the Senators during the 2015 season, sporting a 1.79 GAA and .941 save percentage. Since then Hammond has not been able to come close to that performance, and has been spending most of his time with the Senators AHL affiliate ever since.

Who do you think won this trade?

UPDATE: Since being traded to Nashville, Kyle Turris has been given a 6-year contract extension worth 36 million dollars (6 million AAV).
