NHL Rumor/Video: Leafs To Sign Swedish Center Par Lindholm

It appears the Leafs are at it again. This time another low risk gamble on a late blooming SHL Center, Par Lindholm.

As reported by Uffe Bodin at hockeysvergie.se, It appears the Toronto Maple Leafs have beat out a number of other teams bidding for the service of 27 year old, top line center from Skellefteå AIK of the SHL and he will be signing with the Leafs for the 2018-2019 Season.

Par Lindholm is coming off a career year where he scored at a near point per game pace, not easily done in the SHL. Reports surfaced earlier this season that the Vancouver Canucks were in hot pursuit of Lindholm, however, as is Lamoriello's way, the Leafs managed to sneak in the backdoor undetected until this news leaked today.

With changes happening down the middle for both the Leafs and the Marlies, Linholm appears to be a serviceable option for either club during the 2018-2019 season.

While not overly relevant to this story, I remembered seeing this hit from a couple years back where Lindholm caught former NHLer Christian Backman with his head down. Unfortunately for Backman, Lindholm gets all head and Backman is left unconscious and concussed.
