NEWS: Development in the Slava Voynov Situation

Rumours have been floating around concerning Slava Voynov returning to the NHL after being convicted of misdemeanour domestic abuse, resulting in him serving almost 2 months in jail, as well as being suspended indefinitely by the league.
A California judge just dismissed Voynov's conviction, which clears the way somewhat for him to return to the NHL.

The conviction stems from a domestic abuse charge in which police say he kicked, punch, and even choked his wife in 2015, to which he pleaded no contest. He was later suspended by the league, and agreed to return to Russia after being taken into custody by U.S. immigration officials.

While it seems as if this will clear his way entirely to return to the NHL, Bill Daly explained this does not change his suspension status. That said, he can now try for reinstatement into the league.
