BREAKING: Florida Panthers Announce Their New Captain

The Florida Panthers have just announced their new captain.
It was announced today that the 10th captain in Panthers' history will be... Aleksander Barkov. He was preceded by Derek MacKenzie.

Barkov is still quite young, at 23 years of age. That being said, he has 331 games of NHL experience, along with 100 goals and 249 points, so he has plenty of NHL experience. He had 78 points in 79 games last season, so he certainly can produce offence for the team.

I would've personally expected Aaron Ekblad or Jonathan  Huberdeau, but Barkov is still an excellent candidate and one that can lead the Panthers by example.
