Breaking: NHL to Announce Seattle Expansion Franchise

December 4th, 2018 will be a historic day in the NHL as Gary Bettman is to announce a new expansion team in Seattle.
First reported by Darren Dreger, a hockey insider for TSN, the annual NHL Board of Governors meeting is to confirm on December 4th that Seattle will receive the next expansion team and begin to play in 2021.

The city of Seattle approved a 700-million-dollar renovation of the KeyArena in July of 2018. The Oak View Group, the potential owners of the franchise, collected over 25 thousand deposits for season tickets in the first hour of accepting them back in March.
The name of the team is still to be determined. However, ideas such as the Seattle Metropolitans, Steelheads, Totems, Sasquatch, Sock Eyes, and Kraken have been buzzing over the last several weeks leading up to the 2018 Board of Governors meeting.
